Best sushi I've found in Freiburg so far - but the service is anything but good. We had to wait for the food for 1 hour 45 minutes (afternoon during the week). When asked, the staff were not that friendly either. If you want to eat here, you can look forward to an outstanding sushi, but you have to expect mediocre service.

The inn is really easy to get to! The convenient transport connections make a quick meal trip possible. Here you get both: sympathetic and fast waiters. I found the offer extremely appealing. I can say that nothing has broken us until now! It was a success in my mouth every time.

The dishes are incredibly delicious and the prices are also very pleasant. Is now the favorite Asian restaurant in Freiburg!

Mai Garden in Freiburg, Habsburgerstr. is a fast food restaurant with a large selection of Asian dishes. Prices are moderate. Versatile Asian taste. Conclusion: good price-performance ratio, fast service, but make a reservation beforehand.

Unfortunately, I had repeated bad experiences with service and organization. The food tastes good, but unfortunately, it kills the rest of the experience. We had made a reservation, arrived on time and found other parties waiting in the entrance area. We were neither greeted nor asked for reservations. After we had made ourselves noticeable, it was just said we should wait, something will be available immediately - a possible reservation was not checked at all. When it was finally our turn, there were already more waiting parties behind us and the first to scream "I" was assigned the next seat. Since we didn't scream fast enough, it was completely ignored that we had been waiting for a quarter of an hour. Gruff, unfriendly tone and overall disorganized. We left the restaurant and will not come back - unfortunately it is not the first time.

Nice ambience and reasonable waiting times. Food (mostly sushi) was delicious and prices are ok too. Staff good too. Had a nice evening :)

Very tasty, unfortunately the sushi chefs didn't try too hard. Especially the vegetarian sushi was already served open (see photos). That was a shame

Freiburg branch: Summer rolls are labeled as vegetarian on the menu; Upon request, it will be confirmed whether they are also vegan. You get them with fish sauce, which I (unfortunately) tasted. When asked whether the fish sauce was, that was confirmed. The spring roll also includes vegetarian, but the small letter that denotes the additives also names fish products as an ingredient. Clear thumbs down. That would have been expected 30 years ago, but not in 2020 and certainly not in a city like Freiburg.

Great food, lunch menu number 11 and number 7 together + 2 times soup, water and large Fanta around 22 euros. No ordinary Asian, extensive and varied menu, everything from sushi to soups. Rice readjusted was free. Gladly again!!!!

The fish variations with rice were very good, very freshly made. Sushi’s here have always been excellent since I've been here. Staff were normally nice, could be improved. Hence one star less :)

Mai Garden is really one of the best sushi shops in Freiburg. As a customer, you can rely on being delivered fresh, high-quality sushi. This beautiful restaurant scores with attention to detail, a beautiful ambience and a large selection. Of course, quality also has its price! However, I am happy to support this company with a clear conscience.

Delicious food, good menu. Bad service underground! Sluggish older women and completely disinterested boys forget half of them and almost always mix things up. It takes forever for someone to appear. They never all get their food at the same time. There is always someone there who only gets his when everyone else has finished; after the first drink there is no service. On our last visit, the two of us said "Haaallooo!" called. Then someone looked over there. The plates are torn from the table, regardless of whether they are still eating or not. The staff is completely untrained.

Very nice terrace with an amazing atmosphere. The cocktails are also very good, especially the ones with fruit juices. We had sushi and it was very fresh and tasty. We also had some prawn dish, which is not for the weak - it was not supposed to be spicy, but if you don't eat spicy regularly, you will feel it strong :)

First of all you really have to praise the quality of the cuisine. The food tasted really good. The sushi was excellent. The food was also sent quickly after the order was taken by the service. The service, however, was extremely overwhelmed. Which really disappointed us. There was no organization. There would have been enough waiters, but everyone was everywhere and so the chaos was predetermined. What also shocked us was the failure to comply with the Corona protective measures. The distance to the next table was not half a meter. Neither of us had to give their contact details and it seemed to us that there were way too many people in the room. It's a shame, the food and atmosphere were really convincing. Unfortunately, the service failed completely.

We were there with friends. The food was highly praised by them and we were not disappointed. 😋 The ambience in the courtyard area was very nice, of course also because it was pleasantly warm. Unfortunately, we noticed the service as negative. 🙄 We were supplied with drinks relatively quickly, but ordering food was tedious 😴 or part of the starter only came on request. The main course was good 👍. When it came time to pay, however, it was not possible to draw the waiters' attention to us, as they were mainly in the inner area of ​​the courtyard, but did not look at the guests on the edge. After about 20 minutes we really thought about dropping cutlery or glasses, then we would certainly have had the undivided attention of the staff. 😉 Conclusion: we will definitely be back, but definitely not because of the service. Maybe training would be appropriate. Subject, what do I have to do so that my guest feels comfortable.

It's always worth a visit, but make sure to book in advance. The restaurant is very well attended. However, it is no wonder with this wonderful meal. And the staff is very friendly and eager to do everything justice.

I was there for my birthday and was pleasantly surprised how delicious the sushi is! We had “Das Schiff” full of sushi for € 100. Price performance was great! Unfortunately, that's true with the service that is a bit sluggish;)

Totally impressed with the site. Highly recommended to enjoy Japanese food. Very good quality, a beautiful place and a very attentive and professional service. It is worth going.

Nice garden, good drinks and very good fusion dishes. What I don't understand, it is so difficult to put disposable runner or placemat on the table? Why wearing a face mask if than you don't clean the table with disinfectants?

Very tasty self-made tofu and a very fruity lime drink which I definitely recommend!! The lunch specials are very reasonably priced. Outside seating makes the impression of an actual garden. We really enjoyed our meals there.

We had to wait 25 min even though we had a reservation. 15 minutes more to manage to order to an unfriendly waitress. The food was good, but the service is bad. Way more tables than they can manage.

Food was delicious but the service was very bad. We waited 35 mins for the menue, again we had to ask the waiter if we finally can order (another 30 mins later). Same with the bill. Waiting time was just too long and service was not friendly at all.

The food is great and abundant. The prices are good and the service is also quite outstanding . Many plates include a nice soup as entry, very tasty and hearty, not just water with flavor. The sushi is particularly heavenly in this place, fresh and delicious. Also quite convenient location right in front of a tram stop.

This place is full of magic.... it tastes so good, my favorite is the crispy duck, the rice and the sauces are really good as well. It's a good place to go when you wanna celebrate something special. The only downside is that it's a bit pricy

not one meal I ever tried was bad or even ok. everything is very tasty and you'll get good quality for your money. you should definitely reserve a table in front , especially on weekends cause it's very crowded. so it could also take a while till they serve your orders, but it's always worth the waiting!
